April 20th 2008
The first race of the season was at the
beautiful Lee USA Speedway in Epping New Hampshire.
There were over 60 cars trying to qualify for 30 spots
Ryan and the team were hopeful as two time winners at Lee USA
last season.
The new car was still being sorted out and was a bit of a handful
for Ryan to drive.
He started 26th and held on to finish 17th with a very ill-handling
car.
April 26th 2008
The second race of the season brought the team to Oxford Plains
Speedway for their season opener.
Not only did the team have to contend with the ACT Tour regulars
but a stellar field of Oxford's local Late Model teams.
Again, there was a huge field of cars trying to qualify for very
few spots.
Ryan started the feature in 9th working his way up to 3rd before
being taken off the track on the last lap by a fellow competitor.
Ryan rebounded to finish 11th after making quite an off-track
excursion on the back stretch.
May 4th 2008
The third race of the ACT Late Model Tour season brought teams
to Barre's Thunder Road.
Ryan started 8th at a track where track position is everything.
He was running in the top 5 when a fellow competitor didn't want
to race anymore spun Ryan.
He managed to claw his way back to a 17th place finish.
May 17th 2008
The Fourth race of the season brought the teams to Airborne International
Speedway.
Ryan won his first ACT Tour race at this event last year.
The car was running the best it had all season.
After starting 8th the rear end blew on the 7th lap.
The team was very dejected after having yet another great run
thwarted by something out of their control.
May 25th 2008
The Memorial Day Classic is a tradition at Barre's Thunder Road.
Again, a huge field assembled for 28 spots.
Qualifying has been the single biggest task for most teams this
season.
Ryan started 20th was as high as 7th before being spun out by
another competitor.
He rallied to finish a dismal 28th.
June 7th 2008
The team was hopeful for a rebound at Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford
Connecticut on the Long Island Sound.
The team travelled to Waterford last year and nearly won finishing
second to their track champion Bruce Thomas, a great competitor!
It was extremely hot with temperatures around 100!
Ryan was leading his qualifying race when the car died.
Many of our competitors gathered to try to help get the car to
fire.
This shows what fine competitors run this tour.
Unable to restart the car the team loaded up and headed back to
Vermont.
June 21 2008
Oxford Plains Speedway was the next trip for the team.
Ryan qualified 12th and finished 11th after running as high as
fifth.
Lapped traffic proved to be the biggest factor at this race.
The team was thankful to qualify with such a large field attempting
and again so few starting spots.
The way the car was running has left the team hopeful that the
season will turn around for sure.
